This has been a loooong time in the making. Read on to see how I created the visual identity for this brand from where it started in 2022 to where it is today.
The idea for this company was just an idea in my friend Bryce's brain. Bryce has worked in weddings since 2019–and I've worked with him. I developed the brand identity for his original company Bryce Thomas Films (Media) back when he was doing wedding videography as a freelancer.

When he approached me with his plan to create a company that would fill the hole in the market he saw when engaged couples searched for both photographers and videographers for their wedding day, I was very interested in the idea. He has a very creative mind and wanted something to do heavily with Colorado (where he's now based), while also not being to cliché or feminine. I drew the above image of a snake just as somewhere to start guiding our ideas. He loved it, but the project then went dormant for a year or so.
When he reached out to pick the project back up, I looked back on the design I'd done previously and knew it wouldn't do as a logo. He still liked the snake idea, but I knew the image needed some streamlining to at the very least become a file more compatible with use as a logo. I had also significantly improved my design skills and wanted this new logo to reflect that. I converted the file to the vector image above.
Even still, I knew I wasn't happy with my design direction and asked him to give me time to rework the design into something more professional. I kept with the snake design and tried streamlining it further to make it more of a logo mark. He came back to me with the feedback that he was no longer interested in the snake design but wanted to incorporate a diamond or a small nod to traditional wedding imagery somehow, so I got back to the drawing board to create something more text-focused.
The vision always remained the same–I wanted to create something that felt organic, Colorado-inspired, and unique in the wedding space. I think the design we landed on did just that. I was able to create a mark that I turned into various logo styles and logo marks that could be used in a variety of situations. He loves where the logo is at now, and I can't wait to see how things go as he gets the company off of the page and into reality!
